The staff and the board reviewed programs and discussed current use, the short term need for improvement, and the long term need for planning, consultants, and for staff training. The staff will implement the plan and has already begun the training process

Rural Arts Program: Provides technical assistance and networking for arts organizations in Rural Areas.  Implemented a technology training project, Web site, and listserv for communication.

E-Institute for Leadership:  A web-based distance learning pilot project with Cornell University.   Alliance is responsible for content, administration, and marketing of project.  Cornell providing technology component.

Regional Meetings:  Alliance staff meet with members/constituents in different regions of the state. 

Will always be face-to-face meetings, but will integrate use of email/listserv to promote, introduce issues/ideas, and get feedback.

Staff Consultants and site visits: Alliance staff or members initiate contact for advice on organizational development, leadership, advocacy, and other issues.   Mostly phone contact.

Email Networks:  The Alliance maintains a number of communication networks.  These include a national network of statewide arts service organizations as well as various networks within NYS.

Public Policy/Advocacy

 

 

Arts Day in Albany:  Event takes places in Albany. Arts advocates meet with legislators.
