Step 1: Conduct Interview and Take Notes
Take turns interviewing each other using the questions below.
Identify Leadership & Change Issues
1. Is there support among your organization's leadership to develop a technology plan? If not, what are their perceptions and attitudes about technology and technology planning? How can you best educate these individuals?2. What type of expertise do you need in a planning team? Who (staff, board, consultants, volunteers) within your organization has the skills, knowledge, or expertise to serve on a technology planning team?
3. Considering your organization's procedures and working style, what are the steps necessary to start the strategic technology planning process? When will you take these steps and who can take responsibility? Is it the right time for you to launch such as effort?
4. Does your organization have a strategic plan or annual program plan, and if so, how does it, if at all, address technology? How could you ensure that a technology planning process might dovetail with your existing plan?
Identify benefits and positive results
1. How would your organization benefit from a technology plan? Identify a specific example. Do not focus on the technology tools, but the outcome of a successfully implemented plan.
2. How might technology enhance your organization's capacity to deliver programs and services or improve operations? Describe at least one specific examples.

Step 3: Brainstorm Creative Strategies
Focusing on the potential problem areas or barriers, list some possible solutions. Creative thinking strategies such as Mind-Mapping or brainstorming might get the creative juices flowing.
